NationStates 2 Closing Down

The dream has ended. This is something I've been predicting for a looong time though I never mentioned it here for reasons I'll elaborate on later.

I've deleted my lengthy rant about OMAC here because I didn't think it was very becoming of me. I'll give a short paraphrase instead:

OMAC sucks. They reneged on their promises, and raped the community in its quest for revenue. They didn't pay me for some of the work I did and have ignored my e-mails for the last four or five months. I am owed nearly £100 and have just about given up on ever getting it. They have been screwing us since day one by using us as venture capital for their REAL projects, those of which are just rip-offs of other games.

I implore readers not to deal with OMAC. If you haven't done so already, leave the Jolt forums and come join us on the new funky self-hosted one. They have treated the NationStates community extremely poorly in its quest for more and more money to the deficit of everything else. Stay away. Stay far, far away.

I've got some plans for a site-wide contest which will be all about asking players to show off their creativity! More on that later though, I'll probably launch it when the forums come out of the beta stage.

One last thing: despite the general chaos of OMAC and Jolt and NS2... I would like to thank Lydias who's really gone above and beyond in helping players, mods, and the community at large even when everything else has been falling apart.
